Do you have crooked, misaligned teeth? Are you considering Invisalign? Before scheduling an appointment to start the Invisalign process, it can be helpful to get a little bit of background knowledge about this dental intervention. At Midtown Dental Care NYC, we offer Invisalign as one of our many comprehensive dental care solutions. We also make sure to sit down with every patient looking into this service, and explain to them what it entails.
Invisalign is a popular method of aligning teeth over a span of months or years. While this is a newer intervention compared to traditional braces, it is one that continues to become more and more favored as the years go on. The Invisalign aligners are created to fit the patient’s teeth, and slowly move them over time. Every 1-2 weeks, the patient will get a new set of clear, plastic aligners, which are just a little bit different from the ones the week prior. By the end of the process, the patient's teeth will be beautiful and properly aligned.
There are a few rules that Invisalign patients must follow in order for Invisalign aligners to work the way that they should. Some things that you should know when you finally receive your first set of aligners include:
Wear your aligners for 22 hours a day. This includes during the day and nighttime. In order for the treatment method to work, it is very important that this rule is followed.
Take your aligners out when you eat. This is the only time it is permissible to take your aligners out. We don’t want the aligners to get dirty!
Brush your teeth before putting your aligners back in. This is especially important if you have just eaten. You don’t want food to build up in your aligners.
Receiving your first set of aligners is an exciting time! However, you may be a little confused about what you should do. Fortunately, Midtown Dental Care is here for you every step of the way. We are here to answer your questions, address any concerns, and let you know what rules you must follow. To learn more or schedule your first Invisalign appointment,

Midtown Dental Care is an avid member of both the dental community, and the New York community. That is we are proud to mention that we have ties to the following associations/organizations:
According to the American Dental Association standards, every individual should visit the dentist once every six months, or twice annually. This begins when a child has their first tooth, and lasts for their entire lifetime. It is very important to attend these appointments to ensure good dental health and minimize the chances of larger dental problems later.
Each and every patient is different with a unique case. This means that, for some patients, Invisalign is the best choice. For other more complex cases, traditional braces may be the most effective dental solution. In order to find out whether traditional braces or Invisalign is best for you, give the professionals at Midtown Dental Care a call. We can discuss with you the advantages and disadvantages of each option, so you can feel confident in your choice.

The benefits of cosmetic dental services are vast. These services make a patient’s smile more appealing, which can then help to boost confidence and self-esteem.
